BALLOON SAFARIS IN SERENGÈTI NATIONAL PARK

Balloon safaris in Serengeti National park

BALLOON SAFARIS IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

Serengeti national park is one of the most visited national parks in East Africa and this is due to a large concentration of wild animals. It is situated in the northern side of Tanzania and famous for the annual migration of wildebeests and this is among the seven wonders of Africa.

Hot air ballooning safari is one of the most memorable experience you need not miss out on while on your safari to Tanzania as you take through the open plains of Serengeti national park. As you float, enjoy the African sunrise while having an aerial view of the plains filled with diverse wildlife such as the zebras, topis, wildebeest, and elephants among others.

A typical ballooning safari starts with the driver guide picking you from your accommodation site and takes you to the starting point where you will be welcomed by the pilot of the air ballooning. For safety measures a briefing will be done and enter the basket, to start an amazing safari in the air.

Depending on the side of the basket, carrying capacity is between 8-16 passengers and on the return after the activity, you will be welcomed with a bottle of Champaign to quencher your experience. And those that don’t take the alcohol, other options like fruits, sausages or English backed tea is prepared for you.

The pilot of the ballooning will not go beyond 1000ft above the treetops such that, he can maintain the focusing point of a panoramic view. This gives an amazing point for photos as you wonder about the extraordinary scenery of Masai Mara and Serengeti.

The activity can be either in the morning or evening depending on your schedule preferred. In the evening, you will experience the sundown in the savannah vegetation and in the morning, you will experience the rising of the sun from the east.

The sun gives a bright and brilliant light in the savannahs as you spot several animals in the conservation area such as antelopes, elephants, buffalos, lions among others. These activities take 2hours of adventure as you encounter as you enjoy the beauty of Tanzania.

It is headed towards the morning meal table which is set up under an umbrella tree near the arrival spot.

The action completes around 9.00 am when you have spotted several games, for example, elephant, Topis, kobs, gazelles, lions among others. Afterwards, you can go back to the hotel or lodge after meeting the guide-driver.

Please note that this activity will fit in with all safari itineraries that include a night in central Serengeti. All efforts will be made to help with transfers for our clients who are staying in different locations, but it will be some early morning departures depending on a specific location. The activity can be done throughout the year but it is recommended in the dry season. This is because it’s not interrupted by rain.

When to go for a hot air ballooning safari?

Serengeti national park can be visited all year round but this activity is preferred in the dry season which is June to October. This is when the weather is clear good for sight viewing than in the wet season which is full fog and mist hence giving good bad viewing points.

Therefore, as you plan to visit Tanzania, consider a ballooning safari in Serengeti national park and our experts in tour planning and organizing are ready to help you. Book with us a ballooning safari for the best lifetime adventure.
