Tour Highlights
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), a representative from your hotel will be there to welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to engage in some optional activities in Entebbe, such as a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. The rest of the day is yours to relax and prepare for your fly-in safari.
After a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your domestic flight to Kasese airstrip, the gateway to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, a lodge representative will greet you and transfer you to your accommodation. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the lodge’s facilities and stunning views before dinner.
Your day begins just before sunrise with coffee and a snack, followed by an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You’ll search for wildlife in the park’s open plains, including elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, and warthogs. In the afternoon, you will take a spectacular boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos. You’ll also see crocodiles, elephants, and a huge variety of birdlife.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, a remote sector known as Ishasha. This region is famous for its unique population of tree-climbing lions. Your afternoon game drive will focus on spotting these magnificent cats as they lounge in the branches of fig trees, a behavior believed to help them escape the heat and tsetse flies.
You will enjoy a final morning game drive in Ishasha for another chance to see the tree-climbing lions. After a leisurely lunch at your lodge, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes as you ascend towards the ancient forest. You will settle into your accommodation with stunning views of the forest canopy.
Today is the most anticipated day of your safari! After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla tracking adventure. Bwindi is home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas, and for most people, coming face-to-face with a gorilla family is an emotional and humbling highlight. The reward of spending one hour with these gentle giants is unforgettable.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the nearby Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Murchison Falls National Park. The flight includes a brief stop in Entebbe before continuing on to the north. Upon your arrival at the airstrip in Murchison, a lodge representative will transfer you to your accommodation, located on the banks of the Nile River.
Today you will depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park. You will have a chance to see lions, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of bird species. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip to the base of the mighty Murchison Falls, where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow 7-meter gap. The banks of the river are densely populated with crocodiles, hippos, and other thirsty wildlife. After the boat safari, you will hike to the top of the falls for a breathtaking view and fantastic photo opportunities.
Enjoy a final breakfast and some leisure time at the lodge. After an early lunch, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Upon arrival, you will connect with your international flight back home, taking with you a lifetime of memories from your exclusive Uganda safari.
