You will then embark on the scenic 6-7 hour journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided on-foot tracking experience, an assured way to see these magnificent creatures. After an en-route lunch at Kabalega Diners, you will continue your journey, entering the park and proceeding to the ferry to cross the Nile. You will wake up early to the sounds of nature, grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and head out for a sunrise game drive on the savanna plains. This is the prime time to spot predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas, as well as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and various species of antelope. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for a full breakfast and lunch.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a spectacular boat cruise on the Nile River to the bottom of the falls. This is a fantastic opportunity to see a high concentration of hippos, enormous crocodiles, and a variety of birds. You will witness the thunderous roar of the falls as the boat reaches its base. From there, you will begin a guided hike to the top of the falls, where the panoramic views of the water squeezing through the gorge are truly breathtaking.
