Tour Overview
6 day cultural and wildlife safari in Uganda is an extraordinary safari that will take you to 3 safari destinations that are; Bwindi impenetrable forest national park home to mountain gorillas and Batwa people, after tracking the mountain gorillas will visit the Batwa community to learn more about their social life and how they used to live in the past, and thereafter, you will visit lake Bunyonyi which is Uganda's deepest lake which is a relaxing place after the hustle and lake Mburo national park where you will engage in game viewing.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
On your first leg of the safari, our driver guide will meet you at the hotel or the airport, he will greet you, and brief you about the safari, thereafter you will hit the road to Bwindi which is about a 9-hour drive from Kampala. You will have a stopover at the Equator, you will engage in the Equator experience and then proceed to Mbarara where you will have your lunch, and later proceed to the countryside down in southwestern Uganda to catch Bwindi impenetrable forest which is going to be your home for 2 nights. You will arrive in the evening, connect to your lodge accommodation, check-in, have dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural tour
Arise in the early morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, and meet your driver guide who will transfer you to the briefing center, this is where you will be educated about gorilla trekking etiquette, you will be assigned a gorilla family to track, and thereafter, you will go with a ranger guide who is very knowledgeable about the gorillas and he will answer your questions while you are in the thick forests.
Gorilla trekking will take about 1 to 4 hours depending on how quickly you find the gorillas, after you have met them, spend 1 hour as you take pictures, capturing every moment, you will later return to the lodge, fresh, and up in the evening expect to visit Batwa community for a cultural experience.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and canoeing experience
You will wake up at leisure, have breakfast, check out, and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest in Africa, you will arrive in the afternoon hours, check in the lodge, have lu,nch and in the evening at you will enjoy canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi which is harbors over 29 Islands and each Island has a history attached to it, gaze at the terraced farmland that surrounds the lake, enjoy birds that will be singing around, you can also decide to swim since this is the only bilharzia free water body in Uganda, after an engaged evening, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Arise in the morning, have a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide who will transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. This is Uganda's highway national park and it is just a few kilometers away from the Mbarara-Kampala highway, have a stopover at the Igongo Country Hotel where you will have lunch, and then visit the Igongo Cultural Center where you will engage in Ankole culture.
Later transfer to the park in the evening, and connect to your lodge accommodation where you will spend overnight.
Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise
This is an interesting day for you where you will wake up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast, meet your driver guide, and hit the jungle to catch the animals when they are still very active. You will drive through herds of zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, Elands, leopards, and hyenas among other animals.
Return to the lodge in the midmorning, and relax as you wait for your lunch, in the evening you head out for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo which will take about 2 hours. Return to the lodge in the evening, relax, have dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning game and departure
On the last day of your safari, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast, check out,t and do a game drive which might grant you chances to meet more animals that you might have missed in the previous game drive. Exit the park and head to Kampala or Entebbe and this will mark the end of your trip.
