Overview
Take part in this captivating 4 day Gorillas and wildlife tour in Uganda exploring the best of its natural wonders. The tour will take you to Bwindi National Park home to endangered mountain gorillas and you will trek them through lush green vegetation for an unforgettable gorilla encounter.
Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park renowned for its diverse wildlife including the rare tree-climbing lions, leopards, warthogs, buffalos, elephants, hippos, crocodiles and more. Have an option of visiting the Batwa community while in Bwindi National Park to get an insight into one of the African unique cultures.
Detailed Itinerary
Day1. Transfer to Bwindi National Park from Kampala/Entebbe
Leave Kampala/Entebbe and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a home to rare mountain gorillas. The journey to this park is accompanied and great scenic views of the banana plantations, Cattle farms, rolling hills and many more others. Have a stopover at the equator in Mpigi for photos and experiments.
Day2. Gorilla trekking day and optional Batwa community tour
Wake up excited to meet the gentle giants in their natural setting. Breakfast will be served followed by a short drive to the headquarters of the park to receive a briefing which covers a lot of aspects such as the rules and regulations, allocation of the gorilla family, assignment of the park guide and escorts, hiring the Porters and more others.
Trekking will begin as you spot different animals and birds such as varvet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys and many more others. Spend an hour following the gorillas on meeting them and this will create everlasting memories since you be capturing photos and recording memories.
Then after, head to the lodge for a hot lunch which will be followed by an optional community tour of the Batwa pygmies. This experience introduces you to the culture of the shortest people in Uganda through traditional dances and music.
Day3. Head to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel boat cruise
Leave Bwindi National Park and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park while enjoying a beautiful landscape. The journey is through the Ishasha sector the area in Queen Elizabeth National Park known for homing the rare tree-climbing lions.
Arrive at Mweya and take a boat cruise where you encounter different wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, hippos and more the birds including migratory birds Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Ruff, Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, Black-tailed Godwit, Eurasian Spoonbill and more others. After, head to the lodge booked and this will be the end of the day.
Day4. Morning game drive and head back to Kampala
Have a morning game drive to watch early raisers such as spotted hyenas, lions, buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, leopards and many more. Then after, head back to Kampala with a stopover at Kikorongo for equator viewing and another one in Mubende for lunch. Arrive in Kampala and be dropped at any point agreed upon.
