Overview.
The safari is amazing as you head to the most isolated national park in Africa and pass through the indigenous forests, local roadside markets, and impressive sceneries.
The safari takes you to enjoy game drives, rhino trekking, and cultural encounters of the Karamojong people. Among other wild animals that are rare to be spotted here include; elephants, giraffes, zebras, different antelope,s and buffalos. Taking a day Kidepo safari is worth a lifetime experience.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum via Soroti town.
Welcome to the Path of Africa-Uganda! Our driver-guide will shake your hands at the airport in Entebbe as a sign of greeting you will head to Gulu town.
The journey is amazing as you pass through beautiful natural settings, roadside markets, and picturesque landscapes. On arrival, you will have to check in to the accommodation facility.
Day 2: Transfer to KidepNational Parkrk.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then transfer to the most isolated national park in Uganda-Kidepo Valley National Park. The park is located in the north-eastern corner of the country neighbouring South Sudan and Kenya. The park has spectacular scenery good for animal viewing. It is the only national park where you can view the ostriches. This is the true African wilderness due to its diverse wildlife.
On arrival, you will take a night game drive to watch the animals such as lions, and cheetahs among others. Then check in at the accommodation for your overnight.
Day 3: Game drive and cultural encounter.
After an early breakfast, we continue by going for a morning game drive to Kanangorok Hot Springs. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich, Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson's Hartebeest, Klipspringer,r and possibly Lions as we take moments of photography.
In the afternoon after lunch, take a community visit to the Karamajongs people with a unique and related culture to the Maasai people of Kenya. The way the dress, the food, the music and dance, the art and craft among others are so amazing. Late evening, get back to the lodge for your dinner.
Day 4: Transfer back to Gulu with a morning game drive.
As you drive out of the park, take a short morning game drive after breakfast where you will spot some animals like elephants, giraffes, and zebras among others, and head to Gulu through Kitgum town. The journey seems tiresome as you drive through the marram roads. Then on reaching, you will spend a night in Gulu city.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala via Rhino Sanctuary.
Leave for Kampala from Gulu early in the morning after breakfast to be able to catch up with the hino trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only place where you can trek the rhinos in the wilderness. If you are lucky, you will spot some antelopes and primates too. Then after lunch, proceed to Kampala where you will be dropped at either the hotel or the airport and this will be the end of the 5 5-dayidepo nNational Park safari.
