Discover the pearl of Africa as you take this 8 days safari where you will encounter both wildlife and culture. More will be seen and enjoyed while participating in the activities like game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking and community or nature walks.

The parks visited here are Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo, Kibale and Bwindi impenetrable forest. En-route lunch and stopover to and from a destination and the prominent ones include Uganda equator in Kayabwe and optional visits of the Amabere caves in Fortportal. Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park and boat cruise.

The assigned driver guide will brief you about this safari and the country at large on an agreed meeting point in Kampala - the capital city of Uganda and thereafter start the trip to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the smallest savannah national park in Uganda with diverse wildlife categories in mammals, bird species, and vegetation among others.

As you enter the park, you will spot the gorgeous Ankole cattle grazing with zebras and antelopes. This park is also the nearest to the capital, Kampala. An interesting stopover will be at the Uganda equator where you will have a chance to take some photos and maybe purchase a few souvenirs. On arrival after lunch, you will embark on the afternoon boat cruise on one of the lakes in the park-Mburo where you will be able to see schools of hippos, crocodiles and birds like African fish eagle, malachite kingfisher among others.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi national park.

Have breakfast and embark on the morning game drive in the plains of the park and spot different mammals such as zebras, jackals, impalas, topis, duikers, giraffes, elands among others and birds like Rwenzori nightjar, marsh harrier, paradise flycatcher, Rwenzori batis to mention but a few.

Exit the park and proceed to Bwindi national park in south-western Uganda; a journey that is endowed with the beautiful landscape of Kigezi highlands and the Ankole cattle farms. On arrival, you will be welcomed at the lodge with a glass of juice.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and community walk.

Breakfast in the morning followed by a drive to the park officials where the officials will give you a quick briefing before penetrating the forest, and in this 30minutes exercise, you will learn a lot and get the best gorilla trekking experience ever in your lifetime.

With the help of a park guide, enter the forest and search for gorillas in their natural environment. Upon locating them, you will have an experiential hour in their presence as you record videos, and take photos as you watch them play, feed, groom their young ones, and making calls.

The exercise will end after about 2-8 hours depending on the location of these gentle giants. Thereafter, meet the driver guide at the park offices where you left him and drive back to the lodge.

Immediately head to visit the nearby community after lunch and explore the Batwa culture. You will interact and learn a lot from them as they entertain you with cultural music and dances before you retire at your lodge.

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha sector.

Embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the most attractive national park in Uganda; pass via the Ishasha sector where you will spot the sought after tree-climbing lions. The park is home to various wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, lions, waterbucks, Uganda kobs to mention but a few and birds like palm nut vulture, African fish eagle, malachite kingfisher, swamp flycatcher, black-headed gonolek, African mourning dove and many more.

On arrival, you will take an evening game drive to spot more of the park’s wildlife before heading to the booked accommodation.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise.

Embark on the morning game drive in Kasenyi plains followed by an afternoon cruise on Kazinga channel. This channel is infested with amazing wildlife and nature among all places of interest in Queen Elizabeth national park.

Among others are buffalos, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, lions, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and bird species such as palm nut vulture, African fish eagle, malachite kingfisher, swamp flycatcher, black-headed gonolek and African mourning dove. Return to the lodge for your dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale and visit Isunga cultural community.

As you enjoy breakfast, prepare to embark on the journey to Kibale national park, the home of 13 primates. It is also home to big mammals such as forest elephants which are commonly spotted, buffaloes though rarely spotted, duikers, giant forest hogs, bush pigs, bushbucks among others. It is home to over 150 bird species with green breasted pitta and great blue turacos standing out.

Upon reaching Kibale National park, you will visit the nearby community of Isunga where you will have another day of exploring and discovering other African cultures of the Batooro and Bakiga. They will entertain you with their traditional dances and music, taste their traditional dishes, learn to speak their languages, and if time allows, visit the cultural site of Isunga cold springs. Then head to the safari lodge where you will be welcomed with a glass of juice.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.

Another amazing day to encounter these primates after breakfast and this will begin with a drive to the Kanyanchu visitor’s centre where park officials will brief you about chimpanzees and the park at large.

This will be an interesting moment as you prepare for the coming adventure in the wild. Head to the forest to search for these beautiful cousins and while on the search, meet other primates like the grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus, olive baboons among others and also birds like the great blue turacos, crowned eagle, African grey parrot, little greenbul, western nicator among others.

Later after lunch, embark on the swamp walk in Bigodi where you will be rewarded with more birds and primate sightings, followed by a drive back to the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer back to Kampala.

Drive back to Kampala immediately after breakfast where you will be rewarded with the views of verdant tea plantations, natural forests, rolling hills with rocks among others. In case you have time, take an enroute visit to the Amabere caves in Fortportal where you will learn about the myths and traditional beliefs behind the formation of these stalagmites and stalactites.

On arrival in Kampala, you will drive to Entebbe international airport where you will be dropped and this will be the end of 8 days safari in Uganda-the pearl of Africa.
